"Memory Ridge" by Sunnyone |
I've told myself there's nothing I can do, to change the past I just keep pushing forward, searching for some peace, at last Mistakes were made so long ago, but I was young and didn't know They took away the right I hadto choose And left my heart with nothin' but the blues It's just water under the bridge, so I told my aching heart Sometimes the flood gates open wide, when I let the teardrops start I'm left here standing all alone, high and dry on Memory Ridge Staring down at a flood of teardrops, flowing underneath the bridge The past is past What's gone and done, I'd like to keep that way But still, I find myself with extra words, I need to say So, if it's thought my words are lies, a closer look shows no disguise The truth is shining bright on Memory Ridge And dancing off that water 'neath the bridge It's just water under the bridge, flowing fast, and flowing free Every drop within that raging flood, comes from the heart of me I'll let it go, then walk away from pain, on Memory Ridge That's the only way to stop the water, underneath the bridge I think I'll spread my wings and fly, right off of Memory Ridge |
