All these years apart, you've always been part of my heart So many times I've wondered how you are We never got to know each other, all those years ago The distance kept between us was so far We chose our different paths, and learned to wear our different masks But Lady Fate had some surprise in store One day I clicked the Net, and that's a day I won't forgetyour mail was there, and opened up the door I never thought I'd get to know you, sisters Our past was like a feather in the wind But when the wind died down, and I finally turned around There you were My sisters, and my friends So, now we're catching up on thirty years of history And laughing as we share the worlds we've known I'm so glad to see that I'm like you, and you're like me And we won't ever need to feel alone Now I have a chance to know you, sisters Our past is just a feather in the wind We can share our lives We've been daughters, mothers, wives And now we're friends and sisters, once again! |
This poem is a gift for my two sisters, both of whom have always been in my heart...even though the miles came between us throughout the years. So, this is written with love, to my sisters, ~~~ Peggy and Lona ~~~ I'm coming home! |
