"The First Snowflake" |
by Sunnyone |
Just a tiny flake of white, floating down from darkened sky, in a swirling, twirling flight, headed for a place to lie... Followed by a million more, covering up the Autumn leaves, and the green of Summer's floor, will turn white as Nature grieves... Say goodby to yellow gold, crackling leaves, and Autumn smells... Say hello to Winter's cold, glistening meadows, frozen dells... Every season has it's start... Winter starts with just one flake... Earth has flowered, blooms depart... time to take her Winter's break... But the flake will bring good cheer, jack-o-lanterns, trick or treat... Then Thanksgiving will be near, harvest treats for all to eat... Flakes at Christmas, such delight... children sledding down the hill... Silver bells and streets of white, thoughts of peace, love, and goodwill... Flakes bring in a brand new year... not to stop, 'til April Fools... With the last flake, Spring appears, Winter dies......by Nature's rules... |
